We are now looking for a Data Platform Expert who wants to contribute to the development of our data-driven working methods and create solutions that make a concrete difference in the business.
In this role, you will work on developing, improving, and maintaining data solutions that support analysis, reporting, and business decisions within Magna Electronics' Global Purchasing Organization.
You will handle both structured and unstructured data and build data flows, models, and reports that help the business work in a more data-driven way.
The work is varied and includes both technical tasks and close collaboration with different parts of the organization. You will help to understand the business needs and translate them into practical and useful solutions – for example, dashboards, data transformations, and improved data flows.
You will become an important part of our data ecosystem and will work with modern tools and platforms such as Databricks, Power BI, Power Query, PowerApps, and Azure-based data services. The role is operational with great opportunities to grow and develop in the field.
Some of the tasks include:
- Designing and implementing data processes, analytical solutions, and pipelines for large datasets.
- Using quantitative and statistical methods to provide insights and influence decisions at all levels.
- Compiling, managing, and quality-assuring data from multiple systems and sources.
- Creating dashboards, reports, and tools that visualize and simplify complex information.
- Setting up routines for monitoring, trend analysis, and data governance.
- Explaining and communicating results clearly and in a business-oriented manner.
- Developing, documenting, and improving standardized reports and processes.
- Supporting the organization with expertise in data management, analysis, and technology choices.
Qualifications
We are looking for a confident and inspiring team member with technical competence and strong analytical skills. You combine a strategic approach with presence in daily work, where you build trust and create engagement in collaborations with sensitivity and respect.
You have a passion for data-driven solutions and enjoy working closely with the business to contribute to well-founded decisions. You work meticulously, structured, and efficiently with large datasets and have the ability to explain complex technical solutions in a clear and accessible way.
With drive, clarity, and a results-oriented approach, you actively contribute to improvements, take responsibility, and dare to act even in challenging situations.
To succeed in this role, we would like you to have:
• Post-secondary education in IT, data, computer science, or equivalent experience
• Several years of experience working with data platforms, data engineering, or data analysis
• Extensive experience with Databricks for data processing and modeling
• Good knowledge of Power BI, including working with Power Query for data transformation
• Understanding of data flows, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Ability to translate business needs into clear technical solutions
